Exclusion and Rodent Proofing Services

Rats and mice can sneak into the tiniest of spaces, there are dozens of potential entry points in your home that rodents can sneak through. Orkin Canada’s preventive exclusion services will inspect for vulnerable rodent pressure points in and around your home, such as gaps in doors seals, worn out door and window screens, gaps around utility pipes, unscreened vents and voids within the building foundation/walls or other entry-points that may provide easy access for rodents. Once found and documented, your Orkin Pro will advise you on the findings. The openings are then excluded using rodent resistant exclusion materials.

Because of the size and simple construction of these traps, your Orkin Pro may use many snap traps in high rodent activity areas and can fit in tiniest of spaces. Snap trap placement takes into consideration children and pet safety.

Multi-Catch Live Trapping

Multi-catch live traps use a rodent’s natural tendency to investigate and wiggle into holes. In these traps, the rodents can get in, but cannot get out. This is often through a mechanism triggered by touch. When the rodent goes into the trap, the mechanism is triggered, closing the door and trapping the rodent inside.

Your Orkin Pro will monitor these traps regularly, once captured, the rodents are then released. It is one of the many humane methods of controlling rodent infestations.
