The Sentricon® termite control system with Always Active™ technology is a bait station system engineered to eliminate Subterranean termite infestations and protect your home from future termite infestations.

How Does The Sentricon® Termite Control System Work?

  1. Your certified local Orkin Pro will inspect your property for signs of a termite infestation or potential conditions that could attract termites to your property.If there is a termite infestation on your property or potential for one, your local Orkin Pro will insert the Sentricon® Termite bait stations and the Recruit® HD termite bait into the soil along high activity areas around the exterior of your property.
  2. Termites eat the bait and bring the treated bait into their colony. Termites prefer the bait used in Sentricon® nearly 10 times more than wood.The active ingredient, noviflumuron, gets shared within the colony and prevents termites from maturing through molting.
  3. When termites can’t molt to grow, the colony, including the queen, is effectively eliminated. Depending on the size of the population, this can take anywhere from a few weeks to a year.

How long does the Sentricon® system take to start working?

The Sentricon® termite control system begins working once termites feed on the bait in the station. The length of time it takes for termites to find an in-ground Sentricon® termite bait station will depend on the size of the termite colony and the termite pressure on your property.

If there is an active termite colony on your property, your Orkin Pro will implement Sentricon®  stations within high activity zones that make it easy for these pests to find the bait.

Is Sentricon® safe for humans?

Sentricon® termite control bait stations are inserted underground, with only a service cover visible, which requires a special key for access. Additionally, the active ingredient in the Sentricon® system, noviflumuron, is specifically designed to disrupt the molting process, posing no risks to people or pets.

Can I install Sentricon® myself?

No. The Sentricon® system is registered for use by pest control professionals only. Termites can cause extensive damage that requires specialized training and equipment to properly treat.

Is Sentricon® better than liquid treatment?

In certain situations, liquid treatments may not be as effective at controlling termite populations and may require additional pretreatment requirements. In those situations, your Orkin Pro will implement the Sentricon® system because it takes advantage of a subterranean termite’s natural behaviours. The Sentricon® termite control system leverages the termites themselves to eliminate their entire colony, including the queen.

How long is Sentricon® good for?

The Sentricon® Always Active™ technology ensures year-round effectiveness. Your Orkin termite control Pro may conduct inspections at least annually, or more often (depending on the size of the colony and other termite pressures), to verify the effectiveness and proper installation of the bait stations on your property.
