Due to literary comparisons between bats and vampires, some people expect a bat bite to resemble fang marks. In truth, bat teeth are so sharp and so tiny, they might not leave any mark at all.

While homeowners are often alerted to a skunk’s presence by the smell, these pests do make noticeable sounds.

The average lifespan of a raccoon in the wild is about five years, but with abundant food and shelter they’re able to survive well past a decade.

While bats in warmer climates may never hibernate, most local species wait out Canadian winters by either heading south or going dormant.

Despite its curious nature, the striped skunk isn’t very good at climbing.

Both gophers and groundhogs can be found throughout Canada. Pocket gophers grow to about 15cm in length and are typically smaller than groundhogs, which can be as long as 63cm.

Without a clear view of their tails, it can be difficult to distinguish whether a pest is a groundhog or a beaver.
